| Barnstable, Yarmouth, Yarmouthport, Dennis, Dennisport, Harwich and Harwichport are the seven main towns in the Cape’s bustling midsection. The region could also be divided into north and south, since the two are quite distinct. To the south, bathers delight in the warm waters of Nantucket Sound. Near Hyannis are the quiet outposts of Cotuit, Osterville and Centerville as well as the popular destinations of Hyannisport, Craigville Beach, and Marstons Mills. Hyannis is the population and commercial center of the Cape and for nightlife is definitely “where the action is”. Dennis is the town of 16 salt water beaches. Eight beaches are on Cape Cod Bay, the north side and eight beaches are in Dennisport on Nantucket Sound. Harwich has it’s beautiful Nantucket Sound beaches and a quaint harbor. To the north, the Old Kings Highway meanders along the Cape Cod Bay side of the Cape with an array of antique homes and miles of lovely beaches. Catch the sunsets over Cape Cod Bay and enjoy pastoral views. |
