History and beauty surround this lovely Queen Ann Inn. You are first greeted by an amazingly beautiful and ancient beech tree that offers natural shade while relaxing on the historic verandah. This setting establishes the tone for a true Cape Cod visit: history, relaxation and the smell of the sea air. Located in the wonderful historic district in the Village of Barnstable, you can walk to museums, restaurants and the beach and the harbor are only 1 mile away.There are six, spacious bedrooms all furnished with antiques. Some have fireplaces all have private bathrooms, air conditioning, WIFI and TV's. Every morning a 3 course breakfast awaits you and afternoon tea is served on the verandah and under the shade of the beech tree. There is a large back yard with various nooks for solitude, reading or just enjoying nature.Room # 1"Rose" has a queen canopy bed, fireplace and bathroom with tub and shower.Room # 2 "Marble" has a queen brass bed, marble fireplace and bathroom with tub and shower.Room #3 " Lilac" is a very large room with a king bed and an alcove with a twin bed, there is plenty of room for a roll away bed for the 4th family member. Private bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower.Room # 4 "Eastlake" offers seasonal views of Cape Cod Bay through stained glass windows. This large L-shaped room is decorated with William Morris wallpaper, a spoon carved Queen bed and a double bed. The matching marble topped dresser recreates the Eastlake style of the 1880's. Private bathroom with shower. This room is comfortable for maximum 4 people.Room # 5 "Cottage" a rare hand painted bedroom set with a Queen bed adorns this upstairs room. Four stained glass windows overlook the weeping beech tree to the west and seasonal peek of Cape Cod Bay to the north. Private bathroom with a shower.Room # 6 "Garret" a very private third floor hideaway. Angled walls of period paneling create a lovely bed-sitting room with a seasonal view of Cape Cod Bay. An 1850's vintage Queen brass bed completes the romantic mood. Private bathroom with tub and shower.
